I am sure you must have heard about Hemkund Sahib Gurudwara, A Sikh pilgrimage shrine located on the Hemkund glacial lake in Uttarakhand. Hemkund Lake is situated on the height of 4320M above sea level. It is one of the most beautiful trecks you will ever experience in your life. I have the images to prove so.
You cannot visit Hemkund Sahib from the month of October to April due to heavy snowfall. The peak time to visit Hemkund Sahib is from July to September.
The first phase of the treck is from Haridwar to Joshimath. The next step in the journey is from Govind ghat to Ghangaria, the base camp. While on your way to Ghangaria you will be accompanied by The Lakshman Ganga River. Get accustomed to be one with nature with the scenic landscapes you will witness in the journey.
From Ghangaria, you will treck to one of the most beautiful places on Earth, The Valley of Flowers. The Valley of flowers is home to one of the rarest flowers on Earth, and most unique of wildlife also. You will find blue sheep, snow leopard, and musk deer in the Valley of Flowers. The Valley of flowers makes you feel like you are in a garden of perfume and hues. You will also see Pushpawati River cutting through the Valley, a truly divine sight.
The next stop and the final destination of your journey will be none other than Hemkund Sahib. It may take you upto three hours to reach Hemkund Sahib from the Valley of flowers. When you enter the Gurudwara, you will feel peace like you’ve never experienced before. Take a dip in the holy lake, was your negative thoughts away.
The treck to Hemkund Sahib will be one of the most satisfied and enriching journeys for your body, soul, and mind. Away from the hustle of this polluted urban life, you find yourself like never before.
