Band of Brothers changed my life; I am not lying; it did change my life. This was the first time I was witnessing war in all of its faces, and the depth of the damage it causes both physically and mentally. We cannot ever patiently bear a simple injury, and these brave Paratroopers were carrying their own torn off limbs in the war and were still going strong. Their courage and conviction gave me the will to come out of my shell and not take life for granted.
Today Hanks and Steven Spielberg announced that they are producing the second follow-up series to Band of Brothers, which will be focused on ‘US Eighth Air Force’ and their gallant dogfights against the Nazi Air Force. I cannot hold my excitement. In both Band of Brother’s and The Pacific, we’ve seen mostly seen the ground battles. I think it is just to the cause and the audience that these legendary producers are making the third miniseries.
The miniseries will have nine episodes which are based on “Masters of the Air: America’s Bomber Boys Who Fought the Air War Against Nazi Germany,” which is Donald L. Miller’s biographical book. The budget of the show is a mindblowing 250$ Million. I think it should be, the VFX on dog fights will cost an arm and a leg.
Finally, I am revealing the name of the series; it will be called “Masters In The Air.” Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg will play their part as executive producers, and John Orloff is hired to write the script. I think both Speilberg and Hanks will direct a few episodes. I can only pray that the series debuts as soon as it can.
