Have you ever thought about planning a trip to Vizag? Which is also known as Vishakhapatnam. It is a port city in Andhra Pradesh. You must have heard about it from all the cricket matches that are played there. After Puducherry, I found Vizag the second most fascinating port city. It offers so much more of nature and culture than one would expect.
If you want to plan a trip to Vizag, I have the best places to suggest to you.
A million-year-old cave. The cave if formed of limestones and is one of the deepest caves in India. Its entrance is about 700M above sea level, and the view of the valley from the cave is truly majestic. The cave is situated at the Araku Valley and is home to spooky bats. It’s a different experience inside as you go deeper and deeper inside the cave.
INS Kurusura Submarine Museum
The INS Kurusura was the fifth Indian Navy Submarine. It was decommissioned after 31 years of service, and now is a submarine museum for the civilians to experience. How cool would it be to see this place? I am telling you it is a patriotic moment to be inside of this submarine. The tour is given by retired Navy Personnel which makes it an enriching experience.
Indira Gandhi Zoological Park
Vizag is home to India’s third-largest zoological park, the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park. It is situated in the Eastern Ghats and covers an area of 625 acres. There are more than eighty species of birds and animals here, which includes Giraffe, tigers, puma, jaguars, ostriches, porcupines, mandrill, chimpanzees, deers, eagles, vultures, Blue-and-yellow macaw, and many more. You have to travel from the entrance to the end, which is on the opposite side to complete the tour. The wildlife here is rare to see in India.
