Scorsese, De Niro, And DiCaprio To Team Up For Killers Of The Flower Moon

At the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Robert De Niro was honoured with The lifetime achievement award by none other than Leonardo DiCaprio. While giving the speech, Leo publically declared that he will be co-starring with Robert De Niro in Killers Of The Flower Moon, a movie adaptation of the 2017 award-winning non-fiction book of the same name. Scorsese had secured the rights to the film a while ago.

I read half of the book when it came out, and I can confidently say, Martin Scorsese, will do total justice to the film. The book by David Gran has the quality to become a Scorsese project. It tells an interesting story of the birth of the FBI and how they investigated murders of Native Indians when oil was discovered underneath their lands in Oklahoma.

When I read the book, it had a lucid element to paint a picture in the reader’s head. The grim murders, the discovery of bodies spoke volumes on the oil game of America. The events will take place in 1920. This is the most exciting team of filmmakers coming together. The script will be penned by Eric Roth. He is one of the greatest scriptwriters ever. He wrote Forrest Gump for which he won an Oscar, he wrote Munich, and the curious case of Benjamin Button also.

The shooting begins in March 2020, I hope the movie hits the theatres in December 2020. The period setting of 1920 will be interesting to see.
