Ever since Thor: The Dark World was released, the speculations surrounding a female Thor taking over Chris Hemsworth’s Thor has been going on. Finally, after a lot of predictions, Marvel Studios have announced that Natalie Portman, who played Thor’s love interest in the first two films of the franchise, is going to return as female Thor.
Now, the fans like myself have followed this story for a long time and after the ending of Avengers: Endgame, I thought that there are chances of this to happen, but at the same time, Thor crowned his friend as the new ‘king’ of Asgard. So overall, the process is quite confusing for me to digest as of now. I am not sure what Marvel had been thinking.
According to the comics, Jane Foster becomes Thor after the god of thunder is not able to wield the hammer due to the events that took place in the Original Sins. Though Marvel cannot follow the same storyline, and that has got me on the edge of the seat. It will be quite exciting to see how they take the character forward and even introduce her.
I waited for this moment to take place for a long time, and the announcement made at San Diego Comic-Con has made me believe in Marvel once again. Natalie Portman will be seen in Thor: Love and Thunder as the mighty God.
