Bollywood is known for its glory and commercial value. Nonetheless, we have made groundbreaking movies and we will continue to do so. More often than not a good movie fails to make money at the box office, but they deserve to be watched by all. sometimes they are made by famous filmmakers and sometimes they make budding moviemakers famous. I would like to point out those movies.
Based on one of the most controversial issues, the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi and the riots in India, Hey Raam was snubbed by people, but the movie was excellent and delved into the mind of Bapu’s murderers.
Tumbbad was a genre-defining horror film. It didn’t do good on the box office because of the lack of attention from critics and audience. But later on, when the movie was released on online platforms, a cult fan following grew for the movie.
Aamir was a unique film with a whole new perspective inside the world of terrorism. A doctor returning to India finds himself in the grasp of sleeper cells and has to follow their directions to save his family. The movie got much love, but later than its release.
Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh
A masterpiece for the Indian audience. With an unusual but immensely talented cast, Main, Meri Patni Aur Woh perfectly depicted the plight of insecure men. Relationships are vulnerable and they need to be nurtured with trust. I think this movie helped a lot of families understand each other.
