Greta Gerwig has proved again that she is the real deal when it comes to making a powerful movie. After the immense success of Lady Bird, Little Women was another movie to celebrate the power of women in our lives. This film had a heart and bonding that only comes naturally. A tale of four sisters who love each other to death and are the best of friends in the time of the American Civil War. I’ve got to admit, Little Women helped me to understand women a little bit more, which will surely help me in my life.
Six Oscar nominations were not enough, I think Greta deserved the nomination for the Best Director, her work is on a whole another level and I think she will eventually win the most coveted trophy in cinema. The most powerful asset of this film is the characters, such diversity of performance and warmth in their heart reminded me that family is the most important thing in the world.
Saoirse Ronan has grown into such a wonderful actor, Florence Pugh was simple and phenomenal, Emma Watson showed such depth and vibed perfectly as the elder sister. Laura Dern is in her prime, and Timothée Chalamet fits like a glove in his role.
Staying together in times of distress is the most vital aspect of a family. A mother and father play such an important role in making their children either kind of devious. A learned a thing or two about parenting from this movie. It was one of the best movies of 2019 and must be watched by all.
