I love french fries, they are truly my vice. While I have kicked out all my guilty pleasures, a nice plate of hot and spicy potatoes is something I can never give up. But making slight changes for the greater good never hurt.
And so, I finally have the unthinkable recipe for you.
Here’s how you make a healthier version of French Fries that taste just as good as fast food:
- 4 teaspoons olive oil
- 4 medium baking potatoes
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
Place aluminum foil on a baking sheet and drizzle olive oil over it. Cut the potatoes lengthwise into 1/2 inch thick wedges.
Transfer the wedges to a bowl of cold water and toss some olive oil in it. Sprinkle the wedges with salt and black pepper.
Arrange the potatoes in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake the wedges in a 450° F oven for 12 minutes or more until they turn golden and tender.
