Regular pedicures can make your feet look well-groomed and flawless. But, hitting the salon every single time can become a tedious chore. However, doing a self-pedicure at home is a piece of cake! And, you will also be able to save money and a lot of your time.

Things you will need

  • A tub or a bucket of warm water to soak your feet
  • Bath salts
  • Shampoo
  • Foot scrub
  • Nail clippers
  • Cuticle pusher
  • Nail File
  • Pumice stone
  • Nail scrubber
  • Nail polish remover
  • Nail Polish
  • Towel
  • Moisturizer
  • Cotton

Prep it

Before you begin, it is important to prep your feet and nails. Firstly, remove the nail polish using some cotton. Once you remove the polish, check if your nails require a cut. If so, be gentle and don’t cut the corners too deep.

Next step is to file your nails according to the desired shape. However, while you are filing, make sure you do it gently.

Soak it

Now that your nails are prepped, you need to soak your feet in a tub of warm water. Make sure you add bath salts and some shampoo before soaking your feet. This will help get rid of pain, soften any rough areas and reduce inflammation. Keep your feet in the tub for at least 10 minutes.

Quick Tip – If you want to amp up your experience, add a few smooth pebbles to the tub to give your feet a soothing massage.

Clean it

Clean your feet using a towel and apply cuticle cream on the end of your toenails. Let it sit for a couple of minutes. Using a cuticle pusher, clean your nails. Remember not to cut the cuticles, but to remove them gently. Once you are done, wipe it off using cotton balls. Now, using your pumice stone, exfoliate your soles.

Scrub and moisturize it

Take a generous amount of foot scrub and gently exfoliate your feet and legs. And, once you wash it off, moisturize it. Finally, paint your nails using your favourite colour.
