Immunity is the key to battle any disease, and currently, it has become the need of the hour. So without much ado, here I am with some vegetables and fruits that are natural immunity boosters.
When we catch a cold, we turn to vitamin C, and citrus fruits contain truckloads of the said vitamin. Also, currently, it is readily available in the market. Yes, I know it could be a bit difficult in getting them now because of lockdown but search harder. Some of them are tangerines, oranges, kinu, lemons, limes etc.
Red bell peppers:
These contain twice the amount of vitamin C found in the citrus fruits. They are also rich in beta carotene, which is essential for eyes and skin. Apart from boosting your immune system, vitamin C is a magic pill for your skin as well.
There is a reason why your mama forced you to eat your greens. They always know better. Broccoli is rich in vitamins A, C and E and also in antioxidants. Consume it with minimum cooking to get the maximum benefit out of it. It does not even taste all that bad and trust me on this because I am not a big fan of vegetables.
Garlic and Ginger:
These two are staples in an Indian kitchen because of its rich flavour and tons of medicinal properties. There is a reason why ginger tea works magic for your sore throat. They are excellent anti-inflammatory agents, raise your immunity, lowers your bad cholesterol etc.
This is a fantastic immunity boosting agent. It contains the good guys from the bacteria community and keeps your gut healthy. However, do not for those flavoured ones as they contain unnecessary sugar which your body does not require. In case you are lactose intolerant, you can opt for non-dairy yoghurt variety.
