Colin Farrell Is Cast As Penguin And Andy Serkis As Alfred In Batman

Although the news is yet to come from the horse’s mouth, the things are looking pretty clear on the casting of the Penguin and Alfred Pennyworth. A long-time collaborator of director Matt Reeves Andy Serkis, who played Cesar in the Planet of The Apes Franchise is about to sign the guardian and partner of the Batman.

Colin Ferrell is confirmed to play the Penguin; I think he is an odd choice, but yeah a little makeup and prosthetics will get him well into the character. Colin Ferrell has grown as an actor over the years; he made some choices in films, I hope he does justice to the Penguin as it has been a while since that character has seen some screentime.

Andy Serkis, on the other hand, would suit perfectly in the character of Alfred Pennyworth. He is a chameleon; he fits into any role like a glove. I am a fan of his since the Lord of The Rings, and when he played Cesar, the leader of the apes, his intensity reached a new level of depth. He is one of the most expressive actors working in the industry today. Andy is a creative visionary; also, he will put a creative input in the film, which will be new for the audience.

The other cast members include Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Zoe Kravitz as Catwomen, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Batman movies are always an ensemble; I am hoping that Matt Reeves will weave the new cast into something unprecedented. The film is set to release on June 25, 2021.
