CBD has been proven to be a potential treatment for anxiety and pain management. Its infusions have been found in several upscale products, along with the aisles of Walmart.
So if it is so good for you, and it is so readily available, why can’t the FDA clear it?
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) says that a lot of research must be done to clear CBD for public sale. According to the FDA, they have questions about the safety of the product, given the addiction, it ensues.
“There are many unanswered questions about the science, safety, and quality of products containing CBD. The FDA has seen only limited data about CBD safety and these data point to real risks that need to be considered before taking CBD for any reason.“
Along with the reports, the FDA also issued warning letters to 15 companies that are currently illegally selling CBD products in the U.S. The statement included: “Today’s actions come as the FDA continues to explore potential pathways for various types of CBD products to be lawfully marketed. This includes ongoing work to obtain and evaluate information to address outstanding questions related to the safety of CBD products while maintaining the agency’s rigorous public health standards.”
