Book-To-Movie Adaptations You Need To Watch

You HAVE to watch these characters come to life. Often I feel that movie adaptations of my favourite books do no justice to how the books made me feel. Yet there is a certain thrill to see the same story play out in two wildly different mediums. Like when Gus and Hazel had the ‘Okay? Okay’ moment. Or when Peter puts his hand in Lara Jean’s back pocket. And the list is endless. But here are a few movies that were adapted from books and they absolutely turned out to be brilliant. Take a look-

Me Before You is a British-American romantic drama film adapted from the book named Me Before You by Jojo Moyes. It’s is a story of two unlikely people who make the emotional journey from being strangers to soulmates.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before came out as a movie on Netflix adapted from the book in the same name by Jenny Hann. It’s a story of a girl in her mid-teens struggling with love, writing secret letters to her crushes and dealing with the consequences when those letters get posted.

The Devil Wears Prada was a blockbuster American comedy adapted from the book The Devil Wears Prada by Lauren Weisberger and it’s a story of a  young woman who’s graduated in journalism and comes to New York where she becomes an assistant to one of the city’s biggest magazine editors, the ruthless and cynical, Miranda Priestly.

A romantic tragedy film, TFIOS, was a story devoted to the tragedies and triumphs of teens struggling with cancer, to their courage and to their journey toward joy.

Adapted from Cecelia Ahern’s book PS I Love You, the movie is a story of a woman Holly Kennedy who receives letters from her late husband that brings her hope, strength and inspiration and make her feel as if he is standing by her side each step of the way.
