Ladies and gentlemen, the bad boys are back. The iconic duo of Will Smith and Martin Lawrence were always a fun team who cracked so many awesome jokes in sync that my stomach hurt laughing. The exotic Miani landscape, the cool expensive cars and the drug busts in the trailer show that nothing changed between the two bad boys.
The set premise of the movie is that detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett are about to retire officially and for one last time; they are given the responsibility to lead the AMMO team, a special Miami police unit to take down the Miami Drug cartel run by Armando Armas, a Romanian drug lord whose brother they defeated.
Director Michael Bay is not returning to direct the third film of the franchise. Two Belgian directors, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are given the responsibility to direct the movie. The movie is set to release on January 17, 2020.
When I saw Martin Lawrence cracking his jokes, I felt reminiscent of my childhood laughs. I was a big fan of Big Boys II, and the duo has kept the harmony alive. Driving through the mall, Martin Lawrence flashes his police badge to the public and yells, “Yes we are black and cops; we will arrest ourselves later,” is such a hilarious take on racism.
The bad boys are still leaving a mess behind for their beloved Captain Conrad to clean up. It may be the final film of the franchise so buckle up for the glorious action scenes and unending chuckles. Bad Boys for Life will be a moneymaker.
