One Friday night, I was all set to binge watch friends episodes, and while searching what to watch, I came across Ye Jawani Hai Deewani! Who doesn’t feel like going to the mountains after watching this amazing movie? Scenic snow-clad mountains are where I wanted to go for sure.
A desperate break was what I wanted, and yes, this was the right time for me to choose a place. Since I had been to Manali, I wanted to explore someplace that was unexplored or rather someplace secluded from the tourists. After a lot of Google search, the only answer that was apt to my search was Kasauli! Love mountains? They said visit Kasauli to experience the unusual!
To start with where is KASAULI?
Kasauli is situated in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh. It is a cantonment town just 77 km away from Shimla, 65 km from Chandigarh. The location is a tourist hub for people who like being close to nature, who like being in a calm and quiet environment amongst trees and mountains. It is one of the best getaways one could ever ask for in India.
Here, I would like to pinpoint 5 best places that one just can’t miss while visiting Kasauli:
1.) Christ Church
This Church is located amidst the jungle of pine and deodar trees. Christ Church is the most visited place in Kasauli, the breathtaking view is a definite go for people who love photography. The architecture of this church is very marvelous and one would literally feel at peace after visiting this place.
2.) Sunset Point
Who doesn’t love watching sunsets? It is often said that visit Vagator and watch the beautiful sunset from a beach. This experience of watching it from the mountains is really eye-catchy. One can also enjoy hiking, a spot known as Gilbert Trail is worth exploring.
3.) The Mall road
The mall road is quite famous amongst the tourists and local people. One can find good restaurants, shops, tea stalls, book stores, and many more attractions. Visiting the Kasauli club on the mall road should be on your list when you visit this mall road.
4.) Monkey Point
Monkey Point is the highest point at Kasauli and its the place where Lord Hanuman had placed his feet while searching for Sanjeevani booti in Ramayana. This is the point where you could see the Himalayas and Sutlej river meeting.
5.) Gurkha Fort
Located on a hillock in Subathu, The Gurkha Fort is 16 km from Parwanoo. The heritage fort is an old historical place located at the corner of the town and surrounded by dense forests. One can get to click amazing photographs from this viewpoint. Trekking is also amongst the things that one can do near Kasauli if one likes to seek adventure.
