Back pain has become one of the most common issues at the office of the physiotherapist. Hours of sitting to work and no movement in our hips and back tighten our muscles and when strain is put on those muscles in any way, we either pull a muscle or something much worse happens. If your problem is muscular, you need to get the blood flowing back again those muscles to relieve back pain. If you cannot go to doctors, worry not there are home remedies to relieve back pain.
Epsom salt bath
You will need some Epsom salt, a tub, and fifteen minutes of your time. Prepare an Epsom salt bath with two cups of salt poured in the water. Soak in the lukewarm water bath for fifteen minutes. The rich magnesium content will decrease inflammation all across your body. Do this twice a week.
A warm castor oil massage will do wonders for your back pain. Heat up the castor oil and massage the painful area of your back at night. Leave the oil overnight. The castor oil is analgesic and will relieve your pain fast overnight. You can do this daily if your pain is severe.
Lavender essential oil
Lavender oil has many healing properties; it is analgesic and antiseptic. You need to take five drops of the lavender oil and massage the affected area three times a day. You will feel relieved since the very first day as it has anti-inflammatory effects.
Five drops of peppermint oil mixed with either almond or coconut oil will do the trick. Apply the said mix on the painful area of your back, two or three times a day, the antispasmodic effect of the peppermint oil will cool down the affected area and relieve your pain.
Consuming a teaspoon of fenugreek powder with warm milk is one of the most practised home remedies today. The fenugreek has anti-inflammatory effects and will relieve your back pain internally.
The heating pad is the most recommended home remedy to relieve back pain. Placing a hot water bag or heating pad on the back will ease your pain almost immediately, heating the affected area gets the blood flowing in your muscles, thus reducing the pain. Practice using a heating pad, twice or thrice a day.
If you have inflammation in your back muscles, an ice pack is the best solution for immidiate relief. Placing an ice pack on the affected area will have analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect on the pain.
Turmeric milk is an excellent option. One or two teaspoons of turmeric mixed with warm milk will have anti-inflammatory effects in your entire body. Also, it is one of the most potent antibiotics around.
Ginger water will relieve your pain in the long run. Take an inch of ginger and boil it along with drinkable water, put a teaspoon of honey for taste, let the drink cool down and drink it. You can also use ginger oil on the affected muscle. It is anti-inflammatory.
Heat up two or three basil leaves with drinkable water. Add honey if you like. Drink the water after it cools down. The basil leaves have elements that have anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects on our body. You can also apply bail oil on the painful area.
It is always advised by physiotherapists to take warm baths in case of back pain. The heat has a natural analgesic effect on your entire body. Taking hot showers twice a day will help assuage the pain.
Crush small garlic and make it into a paste. Apply the paste on the affected area and put a cloth on it to cover. Keep the paste on for twenty to thirty minutes and then remove it. It will reduce the inflammation and pain. You can also consume garlic for the same effect.
Chamomile tea is a natural anti-inflammatory drink. Prepare chamomile tea with some honey in it and drink it. You will feel relaxed as the pain and inflammation will reduce.
Aloe vera juice
Aloe vera is the most potent herb you can find. It has so many health benefits. Drink aloe vera juice right after waking up in the morning. It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties. It will also boost your immunity and give you clean skin.
A component called bromelain is found in pineapple. It has anti-inflammatory effects; it can even detox your liver. Either take pineapple juice or eat pineapple daily, you will see tremendous improvement in your inflammation and pain.
